Rin is strong. She has to be, anyway. After everything they've been through, Rin has to be strong.

She comes off as an asshole, to be quite honest. Hostile and violent. She's learned to be this way from years of abuse, mistreatment. They keep their guard up too high so that nobody will see over it. It can come in handy when they need to stand up for themselves and the ones she cares about. At the same time, others can see this as coming off as unkind. Though, Rin also has a strong moral sense. She does what's right. What she thinks is right. She's not afraid to help others, but in a vigilante sense.

Deep down, Rin is insecure. She wants to do good. She wants to help others. She knows that helping others shows their weaknesses. She wants to be kind. She wants to be soft. The shell around them that has built up over years won't allow that.
