RECENT REVIEWS

Woman of the Hour (2023)

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Watched: 10/22/24

Oh, Anna Kendrick. I think you did great here, but this kind of fell flat. I can't explain it, but the scenes with Anna on screen were only entertaining when the serial killer wasn't a part of it. They had awful tension, awful chemistry. Maybe it's because the ending was predictable for Anna's storyline, but I did like how the overall movie ended.

The Edge of Sleep (2024)

Rating: ★★★★★

I'd kill for Markiplier. Next question.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Watched: 10/14/24

I would really rate this 3.5 stars, but I don't know what the fuck the symbol for half stars is. So. Here we are. Anyway. This was super cute! Not as good as the original, but I think the actors did great with what they were given. I love Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder. That instantly brings my rating up by like 5 million.

Bottoms (2024)

Rating: ★★★★☆

Queer fight club save me. Ayo Ebediri save me. I love women and fighting and oh my GOD I love this movie.

One Piece (2023)

Rating: ★★★★★

Finished: 09/29/24

I loved this! It was such a fun watch, and watching it with my great pal Forest made it even better. I may or may not have a ZoSan piece on the way already. OOPS?

Miller's Girl (2024)

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Honestly, I only liked this for two reasons.

One: Jenna Ortega. Two: Men suck. Write about it.

May December (2023)

Rating: ★★★★☆

The Riverdale boy saved this fucking movie. Seriously his acting kicked ass and as I reflect, the more I think on it, he really did make this movie memorable.

Give me more fucked up women!

J - The First Album by JAEHYUN (2024)

Rating: ★★★★☆

Listened: 09/21/24

Oh, man. I won't go too in depth on k-pop controversies and the horrors of what men do, but I do appreciate Jaehyun's artistry here, and I can't fault him for what his groupmate did. Anyway. Roses has to be my top track of the year and if it's not I'll genuinely be shocked.

Fight Club (1999)

Rating: ★★★★★

re-Wached: 09/13/24

My good friend hadn't seen this classic, and our local theatre was doing old movie showings, so it was kind of perfect. Personally, I love Fight Club. It's a favorite of mine. I love the social commentary it makes, how great the acting is... I could go on and on. It's a piece that's timeless but so captured in time that you can almost taste it. Watch it, if you haven't.

Pearl (2022)

Rating: ★★★★☆

I loved this movie. God, I just love when women lose their mind in the best way possible. And it is so relatable in the best way possible, as someone with borderline personality disorder. I am a star.
